100824 Site Visit

Assembly Hall gutters, to replace previous incorrect installation arrive on site
First AH gutter is moved into place by DGT. 
Water still pouring onto Assembly Hall floor.

Soffit of suspended Assembly Hall ceiling being installed with unistrut drops below for ductwork support and acoustic panel support.
Fixing of AH ceiling up to high level structure
Extent of AH ceiling at end of site visit with opening for rooflight
Otway House entrance hall with existing tiling below protective flooring, fixing of radiator R9 here to be clarified.
OH, fixing of radiator R12 on existing tiled floor
Floor joists in place on OH ground floor abutting windows to be boarded from inside
Insulation to Otway rafters not completed, insulation on site
Breather membrane and battens laid onto majority of Otway roof
Stepped central valley gutter, now in 5 bays, being formed
Rooflight openings adjacency to valley board. Note that bottom rooflight will be 150mm above shown opening.
Leadwork being prepared
Lead valley with brather membrane and eaves felt dressed over & into valley. Lightning conductor's contact with lead valley has been flagged up in site visit report.
Correct line of Otway eaves following amendments discussed with roofer at previous site visit
Reduced fascia board depth to achieve required last slate level with vent

small 150x150 flush access panel at low level . NB. If control levers (above) can be moved to this level then one hatch would be preferable and more convenient for maintenance.

100818 Site Visit


















Rain water still draining onto Assembly Hall floor. Concern over insulation getting wet.














Hutton have closed up rooflights to control water ingress, will close up windows asap.














Foil backed insulation to Assembly Hall along GL.Q has been torn and needs to be repaired.














Level reached on Assembly Hall brickwork.


















Stack bond 245 reveal to Assembly Hall windows to be resolved.














Hutton confirm that lintol to GL.L/14-15 has been installed as instructed.














Slab level at threshold to Assembly plant to be amended.














New joists to Otway.














Former cellar windows to be boarded up internally. Architraves and beading removed to allow level finish with adjacent plaster.














Former cellar windows to be boarded up internally and reglazed externally with toughened, enamelled glass.














Replacement terracotta mullion and transom installed in Otway large stair window


















Otway re-roofing eaves issues discussed with sub-contractor. Amendments agreed to fascia board depth and ventilation strategy.


















Remade junction of Otway gables awaiting leadwork.

Hutton raise issue of steel in area of first floor link from Otway to Assembly, clashing with existing voussoirs arch. CVA to discuss with HRW.

Recast raked ring beam complete. Hutton require connection of roof steel to be clarified.

Fixing of windpost above window at GL.1/C. Will require raising and additional fixing to ring beam to avoid window head.


















Checking brickwork levels on site, these work with respect to structure. One issue is that windpost heights need to be checked based on Hutton site dimensions.
